The long-standing experience in plastic processing allows Bausano to ensure high performance and great reliability over time. Bausano single-screw and twin-screw extrusion lines allow producing rigid and flexible profiles with different weights and dimensions - from a few grams to several kilogrammes/metre, from a few millimetres to more than one metre width.

The method of profile extrusion offers an efficient, cost-effective way to produce plastic parts and products. Extrusion is a more efficient way because it eliminates the tooling part. Surely the extrusion of profiles with Bausano’s Single or Twin-screw extruders, gives to the end manufacturer the possibility to be creative and create all sorts of shapes, thickness, hardness, size, color, and texture.
Profile products do not generally have uniform wall thickness, the reason is simply a mechanical need to place material in certain positions to achieve the requirements of the projects. Bausano technical designer aim is to have the right form and material quantity to satisfy the customers’ requirements. The not uniform shape will always be a characteristic of profiles, for examples in window profiles the outer walls will always be thicker than the internal webs that are used to stabilize the profile during the cooling process. Profiles can be more difficult to run because there are no die adjustments, and the different shapes associated with each product require modifying downstream equipment.

Bausano Custom Profile Extrusion

Bausano has studied all challenges of profile extrusion with its E-GO single screw and MD Nextmover Twin-screw series is able to satisfy every customer request. So, the only main disadvantage of profile extrusion is the limitations in the design possibilities, which is due to the linear nature of the process. But there are more advantages than disadvantages, for example it is an inexpensive process and various product combinations are possible.

One of the most important parts of a good profile extrusion is the profile die head design that is made internally in Bausano’s technical department to satisfy the thickness parameters of a good profile and a smooth extrusion of every possible plastic material for profiles.

Materials

Different materials hold different advantages. ABS, for example, offer exceptional chemical resistance while PS offers good adhesive capabilities.

PVC is the most common type of plastic used for plastic profiles due to its flexibility, allowing it to be used for numerous applications.

The market for profiles is vary and heterogenous, profile extrusion is used to produce gutters, window and doors profiles, and many more. Usually, Builders and construction engineers are the largest users of plastic profiles as they are an essential component of many building products.
